3-Day Tsavo East Safari: Red Elephants & Big Five Tours

Overview

Explore the TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK (“Theatre of the Wild”) wildlife along the Great Galana and Tsavo rivers, and a perfect place for bird lovers. The park is famous for:

  • Large herds of red elephants (Big tuskers).
  • The Aruba Dam.
  • The Mundanda Rock.
  • The Yatta Plateau -The longest lava flow in the world at 300kilometres in length and 10kilometres wide.
  • The Lugard Falls.
  • The Galana River.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Nairobi - Tsavo

Early morning picks up from hotel and drive through the city center to join the great trans African highway along the Nairobi Mombasa Road.

The journey takes you through lovely sceneries in the eastern part of Kenya, sightseeing wild animals on the way and the different cultural setting of the community around.

After a 4hr drive you will arrive at a stop over town in Mtito andei, where you will have a bathroom break, fuel up and continue with the journey.

It a 1-hour drive to the next town Voi town, where you will branch and head straight to the Tsavo East National Park main gate.

You will do a game drive enroute to the lodge and arrive at the famous Aruba Ashnil Lodge where you will be greeted by the warm friendly staff. After a briefing the guest will check in at the Exclusive Tents where they will settle down for the afternoon with a late lunch where variety of delicacies are served at the main dining area with a lot of ambiences.

At 4pm guests meet at the reception lounge area for an evening tea and after set out for the evening game drive, later sunset dinner and then rest.

Day 02 Tsavo East Park Full Day

Breakfast at 7.30 and leave at 8 am for the full day game drive in the park with a picnic lunch along the Galana Tsavo river, sightseeing the falls.

After the picnic drive through, as you head back to the lodge in the late afternoon for resting and swimming. Aruba Ashnil Lodge

Day 03 Tsavo East - Nairobi

After a relaxed breakfast at the camp/lodge, we shall check out, followed by an onward departure back to Nairobi by road. Arrive in Nairobi by early afternoon [typically by 2.30 pm]. Drop off at your hotel or free onward transfer to the airport for your flight home.
